General & Implant Dentistry
Dr. Keith provides for all aspects of general and implant dentistry.
Services include:
Bonding
Have chipped or fractured teeth? We can restore them with tooth colored filling material that is chemically “bonded” to the tooth and hardened with a light. And we can usually do it in just one visit!
Restorative Dentistry
There’s nothing attractive about having fillings that show in your mouth every time you smile. Now you can replace your old restorations and crowns with attractive, comfortable, and naturally beautiful metal free restorations.
The FDA would never approve silver mercury fillings today. They can damage the teeth and detract from their appearance, turning them dark gray, and can also damage the teeth they are meant to protect. As metal fillings expand and contract with temperature changes, their movement weakens and cracks teeth. It also creates a space between the tooth wall and filling, allowing bacteria to enter, causing decay.
New bonded plastic materials are more effective and last longer. Bonded plastics can be used to restore teeth with larger, older fillings. They can often be used instead of crowns to conserve your healthy tooth structure. Teeth that are restored with bonded plastics are stronger and healthier than those with old, worn, silver-mercury fillings.
Best of all, these sophisticated restorations look and feel like natural healthy teeth!
Crowns and Bridges
You may need a crown if your tooth is cracked, decayed, damaged or has a large restoration. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over the original tooth providing it strength and natural beauty. Crowns can also be used to whiten, reshape, and realign your existing teeth to create a healthy and vibrant smile.
If you have lost or missing teeth, they can usually be replaced with a bridge—a non-removable prosthesis anchored to the neighboring teeth. The teeth on either side of the space are prepared as crowns to serve as abutments to hold the replacement in place.
Although they make your smile look great, bridges fill more than a cosmetic need. Spaces created in your mouth by the loss of a tooth can cause multiple teeth to shift, can lead to bite or jaw (TMJ) problems or can spur periodontal disease.
Root Canal Treatment
You may need endodontic care (root canal treatment), when the nerve tissue in your tooth is irreversibly damaged due to decay, trauma, or tooth fracture. Root canals are generally a simple one-two visit procedure that allows you to retain a tooth that may have been removed in the past.
Implants
If you’re missing teeth, have a collapsed bite or need to stabilize a complete denture, dental implants may be a good alternative for you.
An implant is a special post that is surgically inserted into your jawbone below the gum. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation onto which your new teeth can be attached. Implants are solid, secure and aesthetically pleasing—a great way to keep your smile functional and beautiful.
Premium Dentures
If you require dentures, planning is the key to achieving a naturally beautiful smile and superior function. In planning your dentures, we consider all of the important parameters: tooth position, gum design, comfort and function.
Prevention - Hygiene Services
Your dental health is very important to us, and hygiene services play a key role in helping you maintain optimal oral health.
Our dedicated hygienists will care for you in a relaxed, comfortable environment using the most modern techniques and materials. Since your home care is the most important factor in your dental health, they will take the extra time to educate you on the proper methods of caring for your teeth and gums. The more you are informed, the healthier you will be.
Our prevention services include hygiene care, examinations, cleaning of teeth and gums, oral cancer screenings and home care education and evaluation. Typically these appointments are scheduled every 4-6 months, and we’ll review our findings with you during each visit.
